On April 5, 2006, Boy Scouts of America held a media briefing in Chicago in advance of oral arguments in Winkler v. Rumsfeld, the lawsuit by the ACLU to ban military support of the Boy Scouts' National Jamboree. Participating in the briefing were George A. Davidson, BSA National Counsel, Virginia Attorney General Bob McDonnell, William H. Hurd representing several members of the Virginia congressional delegation and Joseph Caouette of the American Legion. Attending the briefing were reporters from news organizations from Chicago, Virginia and around the country. Reporters not in Chicago participated in the briefing by telephone.
