nah, they just want me to make 3 $1000 payments in what.. very short piriod of time : / ... what do i do, when i only get $400- every 2 weeks.. any ideas? hey, i was sick. and needed meds, and then all the sudden i had to put food on the table, and pay all the bills, i couldnt even make a single payment on it and now its thru a collection agency...

There is nothing wrong with debt collectors who collect debts in a legitimate way. But when they break the laws then that is unfair to the debtors and to other collection agencies that play by the rules.

Pay the debt! It's not just about paying what's owed.

My problem is debt collector abuses...increasing in score and severity. Are you aware you pay off your debt and your credit reporting stills shows BAD, unless you negotiate the right way (and in writing) how the debt collector will report? Logically, you pay the debt and your credit improves. Logic is, you pay the debt and no other debt collector chases you.

That sounds good but a debt collector job is co collect and it does not care who it collects from, I have a charge-off thats not mine should I smiply pay cause they ask me too?,,,,,Daaa

I understand why everyone is buying into this. Many of us are in debt and we want someone to tell us its ok not to pay our bills. But we know that its not ok. We know that we sign contracts agreeing to pay later for goods and services recieved. Then later comes and we can't adhere to the agreement. The creditor, however, can and does. This results in everything from letters to liens and should come as no surprise because WE signed for it. Best way to stop a bill collector, PAY YOUR BILL!
