  • Thanks for the advice!

  • My pumpkins grew in mid air and they came out perfectly round. Next year I'm making the vines go up =) Thanks for the video =)

  • Wishing you all success!! Great videos!

  • Now, that makes better sense. Thanks.

and... I meant "IF that is possible". Excuse my typos.

  • Looking in his book, it looks like he uses some nylon or fabric and makes a little hammock for them attached to the fence.

  • I also use the same method as you do and it's convenient. Ash from a charcoal grill is good to add too. It's a great FREE source of potash. BTW, my neighbors now bring me their lawn clippings instead of bagging them and having the city pick them up with the trash collection.

  • ...meant it should have been titled that, There wasn't the usual "what's going on in the garden this month" No tips for October.

Theres still a lot going on out there, that's all.

  • great work! great tips!

  • we use plastic garbage cans as well. they work beautifully -- we been getting almost ready to use compost in 2 months. along with drilled holes, we also cut a square on the bottom 1/3 of the side to dig out the good stuff as well as a hole on the bottom 1" of the side for drainage/compost tea (throw some gravel on the bottom and then a layer of mesh so solid compost doesn't go to the bottom).

in addition to lime, hydrogen pyroxide gives it a nice kick start.

  • I am confused. How do those watermelons and pumpkins NOT break the vines. I know he said the *stem* gets thicker, but what about the vine holding the stem? I'd really like to see those vertical growing pumpkins in that is possible. Thanks.
