A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica is a two-part documentary about the process of making the Metallica album (or "The Black Album"), and the following tour. It was produced by Juliana Roberts and directed by Adam Dubin.
A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica was released as a double VHS pack. Both parts are available on a single DVD.
The second part runs approximately two and a half hours and follows Metallica at the start of their Wherever We May Roam Tour in Europe through to the Guns N' Roses/Metallica Stadium Tour of 1992. Included are performances of "Enter Sandman" from the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards and The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992, "Harvester of Sorrow" from Moscow in 1991 at Tushino airfield, and "Sad but True" from the Day on the Green festival in California in 1991.
The band also encounter Spinal Tap, who jokingly ask them about the similarities between their album's covers.
I cut out the music videos from it, which includes "Sad But True" and "Wherever I May Roam" because I have or have had all of them up on my channel already.
In total with both parts of the movie, it will probably be like 15 parts
spinal tap about "black" album:
- if we did the same, we would sell much more albums

" I don't understand. Why do people come up and lie to you. I don't understand. It’s like the whole rock n’ roll thing though. This whole rock n’ roll thing though they come up and lie “You guys sounded great”. Their all sitting in their dressing rooms laughing at us while were playing going “how the fuck did these guys sell 5 million records, why are they even here” sitting, fucking saying that shit behind our backs and they go on “oh that sounded lovely, the drums sounded great”. Fuck you. "
