You cannot teach other language in a country like Chile without protecting our own language and culture which it seems we constantly reject.

Just a sample. Most chilean politicians use spanglish and most of those expressions exist in spanish. Could you teach other language this way? Besides, we have serious problems to understand spanish, so we had better start off learning spanish.

Learning other languages is good. The thing here is that Chile is a trends absorbing country idealising things coming from abroad, speacially from Europe and the U.S.A and english is one of those things Chile sets in a higher place; the aspiration of "being like them" and setting aside our own culture and certainly the spanish language.

I am Chilean and unlike most of my countrymen, I am willing to adapt and adopt cultures without losing my very own sense of citizenship. I am Chilean here, there and everywhere. Let's open our eyes and be constructive. Jealousy and envy has caused us to become reactionary and you can see it in statements like this one : "Pa que aprender Ingleh si tamoh en Chile". Then ironically he or she will have to face the fact that in their jobs the lack of English might be a great disadvantage.

Cabe señala que los niños europeos crecen en países en donde la diversidad de lenguas es enorme, en el fondo les resulta una necesidad. Aqui en sudamerica todos hablan castellano a excepción de Brasil y surinam por lo que esa necesidad no existe.

Es una excelente opción para el país, pero el sistema de hoy en día no vale absolutamente nada. La propaganda es linda y se ve fácil.

Pero el problema está en el aula, los alumnos de los colegios públicos recién en 5º básico comienzan con Inglés. Un niño de Finlandia, Suecia, Noruega, Alemania; de la misma edad en quinto se sabe comunicar mucho mejor.... Mientras que acá con suerte dicen Table, Window, Open The Door y mal pronunciado.......

El problema no somos nosotros, son ellos. Van a tener que pasar unos cientos de años para que se civilicen... Saludos.

me parece imprudente de tu parte decir que cambiemos nuestro idioma por los países vecinos, de donde has sacado semejante cosa? Canadá no tiene dramas con nadie porque la respalda Gran Bretaña y porque en sí siempre ha sido un país pacífico, ahora mira a España, Francia y Portugal, oh si.. tienen las mejores relaciones o.. por otra parte mira a Grecia y Turquía, por el hecho de no tener el mismo idioma no significa que las relaciones vayan mejor.

dudo mucho sakura que apredas inglés si no sabes ni escribir español muy bien ... eso hace falta!!

ahhhaa ke weno k se pongan las pilas en este país, porque estudio pedagogia en Inglés, asi k tendré pega aseguradaa!
