You gotta feel sorry for the poor bloody Italian foot-sloggers in Nth Africa, being forced against their will to fight, under that buffoon Mussolini. No wonder that The Italian Army, prior to the arrival of Rommel & his magnificent German soldiers, surrendered in droves the first chance they got. The Eyties were smart ! In fact, many of the Italian soldiers who were interned in Australia, willingly stayed put as New Aussies, right there after the war - so good did they find Oz & its lifestyle !

Hey Col,I'm an "Italian/Aussie",my Father migrated in 1960,my Grandfather was one of two only survivors from his regiment,walked home without boots etc. The first migrant from my Father's town was interned in Aus,spent his life here.
