Restore to 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 (without SHSH Blobs) from 4.0-4.2.1 on iPhone 3G and iPod 2G MB

UPDATE: Okay, i hand made the custom 3.1.2 firmware file (signed to accept 4.3.3 shsh blobs durring restore) and successfully restored it to my iphone 3gs, but got stuck in a recovery loop afterwards. ireb and tinyumbrella couldnt fix it. does anybody have any ideas? (i will give you a lot of credits in my next video!!)


a cool method i found for restoring to any custom firmware from any firmware on the iPhone 3G and the iPod 2G. if you get an error, try updating to itunes 10.1 and ugrade your iDevice's firmware to 4.2.1. no need for shsh blobs. all you need is "iREB 4.0.X-4.1" (not RC2 edition) and a custom firmware of any iOS version (made by sn0wbreeze or PWNage Tool) to restore to. iOS 4.0-4.0.2 can be jailbroken with redsn0w 0.9.6b1 (http://rapidshare.com/#!download|159dt|400625287|redsn0w_win_0.9.5b5-2.zip|1068­7). iOS 4.1 can be jailbroken with greenpois0n (greenpois0n.com). iOS 4.2-4.2.1 can be jailbroken with redsn0w 0.9.6b4 (iphwn.org). follow me on twitter @EndOfGame. for any questions or if you are getting errors with restoring, send me a message on twitter or email me at uberkrazysteve@gmail.com

Im on a 2G ipod touch 16gb so its obviously an MB model. Can doing it on a different computer help dude? I miss havin 3.1.3 ever since i had a new 8gb 2g i had jb like a year ago.. But it got messed up so i had to take it to the apple store to get it restored to the newest firware

@bmperez if youre on 4.2.1 then this should work fine. hmmm... try rebuilding the custom ipsw with sn0wbreeze 1.7 instead of 1.6

@bmperez either your phone cant ever restore again (not ipsw's fault: /hardware problem, take it back to apple and get a new on for free/) or you need to build a new ipsw because the one you built has an ASR patch error and is not bootable...
