Some people don't realize how tight Tsukuba Circuit is. The corners are tight, slow and the speeds are hardly above 100mph for many cars tested on the back straight. Lighter cars and cars with more traction at low speeds coming out of a corner (AWD) have an advantage here.
Where is the rest of this vid. I want to know the lap times.
Come on guys, the BMW's are heavy cars, the jap cars are more racing focused. Because of this they havent made enough money to continue the tradition hence jap cars by in large sark these days and the euro cars have closed or surpassed the gap. (GTR exception but thats really renault money isnt it). Even a done up s2k would struggle vs. Megane rs250 these days.
And to the dude about the 5speed 3L being faster than the 6speed 3.2l.
@Marc530d they also race on fuji sometimes and it doesn´t change much in bmw´s favour. and what wasn´t correct about this race, the fact that it was short? does it have to be a big track with few corners and long straights for it to be fair?
I like how they rev the hell out of the Japanese cars to keep them in the power band but they keep the bmws at 4k for every thing but the straights this show is a joke.
this raceway is not so long. The fuji raceway is much more longer but the japanese know this.also longer raceway bmw kill the japanese.i like the japanese car but this was not so korrecet race
@Euphorica im not saying its a bad thing, its for the road whereas for the track the 5 speed is better, i had a old m3 standard and chipped it pissed on my m3 evo i had a couple years later.
@Euphorica The evo isnt designed for the track because of its 6 speed gearbox. the stock is because it has 5 speed, and its lighter although it has less BHP.
