For the week-long workshop at the NFTS, we were asked to storyboard a one-minute film, using some images selected by the school as a jumping-off point. For my idea, the central image was a photograph of a lonely trailer in the middle of a snowy tundra. The story I came up with, after a week's worth of revision and tweaking, became the animatic posted here. (An animatic is basically just a filmed storyboard, timed at about the pace the movie will unfold. It's a way of visualizing how the film will play out BEFORE you start spending time and money on it.) The main problem to solve with telling this story was finding the right balance between clarity and implication for the ending. Hopefully you'll understand it...
