- PASS THE WORD! EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Basic Guide to heal sicknesses and troubling feelings: Depression, Stress, Insomnia, Anxiety Attacks, etc.

EFT Basic Tutorial, helpful in relief of mild depression, job Stress, Insomnia, Anxiety and Panic Attacks, etc.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a psychotherapeutic alternative treatment tool based on a theory that negative emotions are caused by disturbances in the body's energy field and that tapping on the meridians while thinking of a negative emotion alters the body's energy field, restoring it to "balance." There are several studies which appear to show positive outcomes from use of the technique.

EFT was created by Gary Craig in the mid 1990s, and is meant to be a simplification and improvement of Roger Callahan's Thought Field Therapy (TFT) techniques. Craig trained with Callahan in the early 1990s. In 1993, Craig was the first person Callahan trained in his most advanced procedure, a proprietary procedure known as Voice Technology. Craig found through his experience that the sequence of tapping points did not matter and that special proprietary procedures were therefore unnecessary, so by the mid 1990s he had simplified Callahan's procedures.

More recently, EFT has added well-known pyschological techniques such as NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), mainly the 'movie' technique developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, as well as the "choices" model developed by Dr. Patricia Carrington, master EFT practitioner.

EFT actually relieves many psychological and physical conditions, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, general stress, addictions and phobias. Even more extreme claims have been made for multiple sclerosis, and several EFT claim that you can also use it for everything from the common cold to some types of cancer. The basic EFT technique involves holding a disturbing memory or emotion in mind and simultaneously using the fingers to tap on a series of 12 specific points on the body that correspond to meridians used in traditional Chinese medicine. The theory behind EFT is that all negative emotions are caused by disturbances in the body's energy field and that tapping on the meridians while thinking of a negative emotion alters the body's energy field, restoring it to "balance."

The theory states that negative emotions are built in the following stages: A negative experience occurs; negative emotions are felt in response to this negative experience, leading to inappropriate programming inside the body; and then the body's energy system gets disrupted due to these negative emotions. The contention of EFT is that in order to remove the negative responses, tackling the negative experience is not enough, because doing so cannot correct the energy imbalance. Rather, the energy imbalance must be restored along with curing the negative emotions.

The main difference between EFT and TFT lies not in principles, but in application. In TFT, a specific sequence of tapping points (known as an algorithm) is used for a particular problem. This sequence is determined using muscle testing, a procedure also used by applied kinesiology.

In EFT, the order and sequence of tapping points is deemed to be unimportant, and therefore there are no individual algorithms for different problems. Instead, a comprehensive algorithm is used for all problems, and no diagnosis or muscle testing is required.

The advanced EFT practitioners are increasingly reporting amazing results with surrogate EFT protocols, in which the tapping points are manipulated not physically but mentally.

Of course, well-known corporation funded websites that are dedicated to "debunk" alternative techniques, publish 'studies' that supposedly show that EFT is a hoax which is funny, since the cost to learn and apply efficiently EFT in youself and other, is actually zero... as this video tutorial shows.

  • I'm so annoyed. I just did this and I have a huge smile on my face I can't get off of it. I'm a skeptical person, so this sort of silliness shouldn't be working on me :OP

  • Well done. Thanks for being so precise. EFT works so well for me. Continued good luck to you. Has anyone done a study on EFT and teenagers?

  • I prefer THC to EFT but whatever floats your boat

  • NICE, well done! Thanks a lot !

  • @TraceurMeeka Energy is like how much liveliness you have, if that makes sense. EFT utalizes the phrase 'mind over matter' and puts it to its full use. For example, I was doing this earlier and kept thinking of my terrible spider phobia. I found myself smiling and giggling by he time I was done with it. I didn't see anything humoress and the thought of spiders certainly doesn't make me smile, so yes, this works :)

  • @PUSSY100ish Alot of doctors, CISD, firefighters, and psychs are beginning to use EMT because it has worked like magic on a lot of people who have been under highly stress situations (Katrina, Oaklahoma fire, 9/11)

  • EFT: BULLSHIT.

  • Now, some use it to cure “everything”, and even though your brain is the basis for humanity and controls everything, you can’t always control physical pain such as back pain. So to me, that’s not exactly right; however, mental situations this does medically make sense. Do your research before cursing profusely and looking like an idiot.

  • Obviously most of you have no idea about the medical world. Don’t diss on something you do not understand. These techniques are not just about tapping or just positive thinking; it is about changing your neurological pathway. When this technique is done correctly, your nervous system basically documents the positive thinking, so that when you hit a situation like the one you are trying to “correct”, your brain will more naturally go to a more positive reaction, than a negative one.

  • @PUSSY100ish Need a hug negative nancy?

  • This is for people who have passed their peak and want to try any silly therapy (for want of a better word) to get that "wow" factor back in their lives. If these therapies worked, why aren't chiropractors and other physio or psycotherapists using it?

  • @TraceurMeeka I could also laugh at your ignorance but ain't worth the attitude.
