RACIAL PROFILING AT THE SANTA CLARA UNIERSITY,CALIFORNIA,USA

THE INCIDENT
As I was sitting and talking in the cafeteria to a SCU Law graduate American Pakistani Muslim girl i (wearing head scarf) about one of my personal legal issues a white police man passed by us in cafeteria asked her out of so many people in cafeteria if this Muslim girl was OK. She replied yes she is fine. I got curious and asked Muslim girl why she was singled out of many present. She said she does not know. The police officer heard me saying. And after few minutes he came back and he want me for questioning. I told him I have not done anything wrong. He said come out of cafeteria and he would let me know. I cooperated with him. He handed over me to Black policeman and this policeman asked me the following questions:
1] Identify yourself. I told him since I do not have car with me, I do not have drivers license with me. Fortunately I had a picture ID from the Bank Of America with me. He verified my identity and asked me if I have money in the bank and how much. When he asked me for my bank account information I thought this Black officer is crossing his authority. That is first illegal charge against him.
2]Second illegal question he asked me which country I am from. I told him I am originally from India but am US Citizen.
3]Since I am heart,diabetes and blood pressure patient I begged him that I am very thirsty and other white officers were watching I need a drink of water because I am unable to talk due to dry mouth due to medication and getting chest pain due to stress. He yelled at meNO,NO. I felt to floor got semiconscious. I asked them get me Ambulance but he never called. He did not take me seriously . I know in USA if pet dog is not provided water and food the person can be charged for animal cruelty. Looks like I was treated worst than an animal. Fortunately by resting and they leaving me alone for sometimes I got up gradually. The Campus police and Santa Clara City police said I could go home.
4] Before leaving the SCU campus I asked Black policeman my charges He never answered my question and also took my picture which must be destroyed. His only answer was very rude which was leave the campus immediately otherwise I will be arrested.
5] I also told him I want to pursue further education in near future at SCU. He said I cannot do and threatened me by ordering not ever come to the campus even to purse further studies. My heart was broken and was in tears . I said to myself after staying for 35 years in Santa Clara County with my impeccable record of two Engineering degrees and working for major Silicon Valley companies like Intel, Phillips, National Semiconductor, AMD and HP at responsible positions how come this Black policeman can take a decision to deny my entry to the campus (especially for none of my fault) that normally Dean or President of the University can take. I thought this man is untrained law enforcement police officer who by his actions has bought SCU an embarrassment.
From my point of view I never thought I was trespassing because not only I had to take care of business on campus but library authorities had said that even if I am not SCU student I can use the library. That is why I see other people who are not students at SCU use the SCU computer facility and the rest of library.
The only reason I can see I was singled out is because of racial profiling which can be further substantiated because I was sitting and talking to Muslim lady attorney. Since both of us have same ethnicity and color he assumed that we may doing some radical plot. So from his point he had a good reason to single me out even though it is illegal.
To conclude Black police man along with his white officer accomplices did racial profiling,he harassed and humiliated me in front of lot of people. tortured me by not letting me drink water or take care of my chest pain. These are very serious charges according to my attorney for which I demand compensation,terminating Black police officers job and apology from all other white officers who were watching his wrong actions from sideline and never telling him to stop his illegal actions. They must be reprimanded

Terry I agree with you 100%. I think such people abuse the a little authority they are given.They should be held accountable but our legal system is so deficient in delivering real justice to the victims.It has too many flaws.It needs to be revisited

i am not from from Middle East.I think you are mixed up and confused man who cannot comprehend the fundamental issue of violation of civil rights and abuse of power. U r really dum.You need to understand world cultures better by thinking out of four walls.

Thank you for posting this video. I never knew about this incident until now. Please post any updates about your case. Did the dean or president of the campus make any comments to your incident?

I wish you luck my friend. No one should be humiliated and abused in this way. Some people with a little authority have little respect for the people they are em[ployed to serve. They have the relationship the wrong way round.
