As an s official I would say at the low end of youth sports (age 8-12), Yes. However, the sponsoring organization and coaches often falls short of enforcing the rules thus leaving us officials to deal with the bad behavior/harassment. I have my officials do the following: 1) Get paid first; 2) If the coach is not wearing the required Youth Protection Badge..LEAVE'; 3) Remind coaches/parents/spectators of the rules..LEAVE for repeated violations...no explanation..just LEAVE as a crew.
