this man is like a modern day Paganini or Franz Liszt. he deserves so much more fame. most don't have the balls let alone talent to try those runs with a clean tone. the best finger-style and fastest double stops on earth.

Will all due respect for other very talented players in the same style, this guy's virtuosity remains unparalleled. Scary chordal work, laser guided precision on superfast runs and all this with a groove, it' s all there. As for speed he wouldn't suffer from any comparison with Lane or Gambale, and he does it with great musicality as well and a clean sound on top of it. Thanx for sharing..

My Dad used to tell me about all the great players that never received the commercial success they deserved. I try never to editorialize myself into comparisons between musicians but since it's Scotty I'll just have to owe myself a tongue lashing. I remember reading a comment which stated; If musicians like Gatton, Buchanan, Pass, etc represent the 1% of the 1% then Scotty Anderson owns the terratory beyond. Hope anyone reading this please watch Scotty & Bob Saxton's cover of "Taste of Honey".

Once Scotty gets warmed up (beyond 2 min) even the Microphone begins to groove with his rhythm playing !!! Scotty never fails to impress. My hope is to book him for my apple orchard come picking season!

@vip01 Pickups are all J.M.Rolph..

yep...well put, but as I remember Lane and gambale use legato and sweep picking, whereas Scotty Picks...not saying its better, but you can do it on acoustic whereas you need a specially set up electric to do the other styles, you cant do it on any guitar, it wont work.
You dont see Allan Holdsworth playing an acoustic that often...for example

Exactly right, Nashville sucks. But it's been that way for a long time. I knew Joe Maphis; he complained about it even back in the '70s. The Row is littered with the broken dreams of great guitarists who made the mistake of moving to Nashville. Lenny Breau used to play a little joint that couldn't draw six people to listen to him, can't remember the name of it. I'd say Lenny was the most over-looked talent in the last 40 years. Scotty picks great! But don't quit your day-job!!
please tell me what kind of telecaster scotty plays! i see the hb neck pickup and just can't understand what model of tele he's using!

I think it is a 73 telecaster with Pickup mods done by a local guy here.
The mini humbucker is a Gibson, and I don't know what the other two are.
He also has a phase switch on the control plate. I think it has a compound radius neck. He still plays it today.
