@Chimbo65 As far as I know the vocal group is the Ray Charles Singers - led by a different Ray Charles! They were featured a lot on the Perry Como Show.

German rock musician Udo Lindenbergmade a kind of cover of this song in the 80s, in rock/new wave uptempo number, called ''der sonderzug nach Pankow''
(special train to pankow) which was in east berlin, he mocked the east berlins and that he couldn't play there.
great song.

"swing music" was a strong influence on Bill´s recordings.

Mmmm, not sure about this; sounds a little 'soft' It certainly hasn't got the bite of the Glenn Miller version. No disrespect to Bill Haley though, he was capable of some really great music.
