Gr00vy old movie. I saw it when it first came out when I was in high school. Clifton Webb was a most gifted actor. He played a CEo here. He was the evil columnist/killer in Laura. And he did comedy as well.
Jack Pleis orchestra was featured in this Decca pop tune. His ork was noted for deep bass. And the composer? Cyril Mockridge! Unfortunately, not a tossed around Hollywood name like Steiner and Korngold. Sammy Cahn's lyrics here.
The tune sounds radio's Yours Truly Johnny Dollar theme!
Heavens to Ernest Gifford! THANKS for posting this lovely tune! I love this song and the movie it comes from: the 1954 Cinemascope comedy/drama "Woman's World" from 20th Century Fox, which starred Clifton Webb, Lauren Bacall, June Allyson, Arlene Dahl, Cornel Wilde, Fred MacMurray & Van Heflin. Entertaining movie with an all star cast! And this is a cute song! CHEERS! :-)
If I can offer a suggestion, it would be to record from the line out to the recorder input for maximum quality. You'r no doubt using a mike, and it loses a lot of fidelity.

Another nostalgic song reminding me of my high school days at the Ateneo and lunches at the UP compound. This is where I first learned to smoke.
