I was up there one August a couple of years ago. Middle of August. It was socked in with clouds. It thundered, which meant that there was lightning - and it started to snow.
I am not kidding. Snow and lightning in the middle of August.
I immediately started heading back to the car. Lightening on top of a fourteen thousand foot mountain, when you are the tallest thing standing on top of it is not good.

Great butt puckerin views on Evans, been up it 2x in a car. Next time its on a bike.

I'm proud to say I've ridden that road in the sleet/rain, with the temperature barely above freezing and I'm honest enough to say I'll never do it again! It was awesome and terrifying at the same time. Thanks for including at least one of those many incredibly narrow -and sharp- hairpin turns. This great video comes as close to capturing the ride as you can without actually being there. My heart was pounding as I watched it!

Man, that ride up would make me nervous as hell! Course I've only been riding a couple of months now ;) We drove up that road in a small suv on a lightly rainy day...nervy stuff.
