His fisrt novel "Essays In Love" is wonderful, however his chapter on suicide is where things start to fray. His "character" reaches for a bottle of Vitamin C, thinking it to be an assortment of fatal pills. Humorous perhaps, but it should have been expunged, as it completely severes all credibility and starts to dissolve the intelligence and dimenisonality of the character. If this chapter had been omitted, it would have been close to flawless. But it really was absurd without being clever.
