Disney was my most beloved film company ever. Then the millenium came and something changed - good storytelling was replaced with cheap laughs dressed up in the prettiest, newest graphics. With "The Princess and the Frog" coming out at the start of next year, I am hopeful that things may return to the way they were, but until then here is my raw opinion in song form.

This is actually the oldest song I've got in my backcatalogue - it was the first song I wrote that I was actually happy with. Hopefully you like it too :)

------------------------------

Lyrics:
It started in the 30s when a girl met seven friends
And right through to the Noughties, you never broke the trend
I'll admit you might have had a slump whilst Reagan was in power
But once you touched computers - it was your darkest hour

Disney, Oh Disney
You shaped most of my childhood: yes, you mean a lot to me
Disney, Oh Disney
Leave CGI to Pixar and go back to plain 2D

When Dumbo hugged his mother I must admit I cried
And the tears would not stop pouring out when Bambi's mother died.
The ending to Fantasia is the scariest thing I've seen
But it's not as bad as when your staff looked to their PC screens.

Disney, Oh Disney
Graphics are worth nothing if you've got a bad story
Disney, Oh Disney
Leave CGI to Pixar and go back to plain 2D

Aladdin and The Lion King, The Emperors New Groove
They entertained the family and ushered in the move
For films to wow the little ones and bigger ones alike
And the best you can come up with? A talking bear goes on a hike.

Disney, Oh Disney
The competition's thrashing you and I am not happy
Disney, Oh Disney
Leave CGI to Pixar and go back to plain 2D

Now Lasseter's in charge I think a U-turn may be near
But here's a tip: a strategy to which you should adhere
If there's a number in the name, throw it quickly out the door
The last thing that we need right now is a Tigger Movie 4

Disney, Oh Disney
With Lasseter behind you we may still have victory
Disney, Oh Disney
Leave CGI to Pixar and go back to plain 2D!

Chords:
Verse - G Am D G (x3), G Am D C G
Chorus - C G D G, C G D C G

  • Who cares for a 3-D film from Disney? 2-D is what makes Disney unique!

  • Okay, while I do prefer the 2D Disney movies, not all their CGI films were horrible. I mean, Meet the Robinsons wasn't that bad and Bolt was actually pretty good. Not as good as most of the 2D films but better than Dinosaur.

  • Wait, Disney does graphics on a pc, not a mac? Wow. You may own the market in graphics, but not if disney doesn't think so. And I would have thought Steve jobs would have done something about about concidering he was on the board of directors!

  • Record deal for this song!

  • I agree with the song. I mean, most of their 3D stuff wasn't good, but "The Princess And The Frog" was brilliant! Oh, I didn't realized I'd already commentted.

  • @kayishoriginal Disney Toon puts no effort into their films and is treated with a very low budget, showing that even the disney executives don't think they have a chance.

  • Awww...love it! It's such a cute song, and I totally agree. As far as I'm concerned, the Disney Renessaince will always be remembered as the best time for Disney films, apart from some of the 50s films like "Alice In Wonderland" and "Lady And The Tramp" (which I like because it's SO romantic).

  • Has anyone pointed out yet that Pixar is just a division of Disney? It is completely owned by Disney last I checked

  • @TedieJena531 What!? i like Meet The Robinsosns, but no way they're better than Dinosaur.

  • I agree with (and like) the song totally but i dislike the Brother Bear part.

It was a good film that.

  • @ajmrowland oh I agree, thiet are some films I don't like, but so far I've like most the disney movies that came out.
