Simulation of two dimensional histogram of scatter plot of 16 QAM signal travelling through a 5000km optical fiber with 250 inline erbium dropped fiber amplifiers for my masters thesis in communication engineering in Chalmers university of Technology.

wavelength = 1.55 um
length = 5000 km
nonlinear coefficient = 1.2 watt/km
attenuation coefficient = 0.25db
spontaneous emission coefficient = 1.41
optical filter bandwidth = 42.7Ghz
