They weren't speak Mandarin. (dialect - Cantonese) 3 tea spoon of yeast, water, flour set for 3 hrs. You can buy the self-rising flour w/out the yeast. Filling - Anything you like. Meat - (pork, beef, chicken) Vegetable - (cabbage, mushroom, green onion, ginger, bean threads. But you can also use corn, peas, carrots, celery, wood fungus, spinach, egg, beancurd.., from any Chinese market). Condiments - soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, sugar(w/ow), bk pepper, chicken powder). Steam for 12~15 minutes.

wat did u use 4 the filling?
So what are the ways to cook these shandong bun? Steam? Fry with little oil on pan?? Deep fry??

The filling is pan fried (Chinese style), then stuff in the bun. The stuffed buns are steamed.

Thanks. My grandparents moved to Canada and they're back for Christmas and Chinese New Year and most importantly, their diamond wedding anniversary. Hope to share more traditional cooking with them during their stay.

Because we are in Hong Kong. My grandparents are real 山东人 though. My grandpa from 青島, and my grandma from 煙台. 您是山东人嗎?
