Thanks for posting. It is so sad for me hearing about El Cajon used to be a very nice area back in the 1960's and 1970's. We came almost every year from Kentucky to visit my uncle and stayed at the Travelodge. We also ate lots of meals at Kozak's, which is now a Middle Eastern Restaurant as I noticed "Kebab" on the sign. When did Kozak's go out of business? Also if you turned left, Hiram's Liquor Store and Foster's Freeze were located on the left.

You should start by pepper and main THEN work your way down, thats really el cajon main street, you missed the arab part of town. El cajon main street used to be el cajon blvd so you should end up there, not going towards the trolley.

@frontier33 Lots changed since then. Now a days its all Chaldeans. Chaldeans are Iraqi Catholics. They're being persecuted in Iraq so there has been massive waves of immigrants the passed few years. Most of them don't speak English. They mostly live on South Mollison, Lincoln Ave., Anza, and pretty much close to the Church on Washingston Ave and Mollison. Main Street is full of Chaldean businesses, from barborshops, to grocery stores, to resteraunts.
