My review of the Ion Discover Dj, made by Ion Audio in association with Numark. This unit can be found in stores and online between $60 - $100. Perfect for the person that wants a simple dj controller to learn a few things on. Comes with software CD (Mixvibes Cross Le) with upgrade on the website. And the Ion Discover Dj controller unit. This is made from hard plastic, and is pretty durable unless it's dropped or abused. Sorry for the camera quality, recorded with my digital camera. This unit is not a gig worthy unit in my opinion. But to each is their own, this is not a DJ Hero like toy. It's an dj midi controller. It is compatible with Virtual Dj. But I don't know about Traktor, M-Audio Torq ect. This isn't an Itch controller so it doesn't control Serato Itch. Hope this covers it for you!

  • Great vid my dude just purchased one to mess around on, but was wondering if this would work for dub step songs made in rock band or other music software.

  • @Abish1221 - I have no idea, I don't own anything apple, but I suppose if you mean like the mp3 or mp4 file then I don't see why not.

  • @BBoyInferno2k3 your video is very useful and now im thinking of buying one..my question is can i record my music on cds??? like i'll mix up my playlist but can i download the music on a cd..

  • @UMUTHMAN03 - Yea you can do that, I've done it before.

  • Is it possible to use this with FRUITY LOOPS? i just picked one up at a thrift store...

For 15 bucks... wanting to know if i wasted my money or not...

  • @PestTheMenace - I don't know really, never tried using it with music making software. But you can use it with the Cross LE or Virtual Dj

  • @djoctofy - You could, but really it's limited. I would buy a more higher end dj controller for gigs. LIke when I got this, I just kinda bought it as something to travel with and have fun with. But in just my opinion, I wouldn't really use this for gigs.

  • would you use discover dj in a gig or would it not work?

  • @DjApprehension - Yea that is what I said in my review pretty much. That is why the controller is called "DISCOVER DJ" it's for beginners, not something to be taken really to serious. DJ Hero isn't even djing at all, it's a button masher with a wheel. Not really a comparison, the only reason I made the video is because some one wanted my opinion on it. I'm a real dj and use real equipment, the only reason I got this in the first place is because I got it for way cheaper than retail.

  • @andriy716 - Yea you can use it with Virtual Dj, but it works better with the software it comes with in my opinion..
