Sachin Tendulkar puts himself up for auction for a cause

The Joy of Giving Week, Sept 27 - Oct 3, 2009 is a new movement aiming to engage Indians in "giving

back" to society. It offers us the chance to use the power of collective individual action to make a

difference. The idea is to get ALL INDIANS to come together and engage in acts of giving during the

Week- whether it is a billionaire writing a cheque, or a slumdweller sharing 1 out of his 3 rotis with

someone who is starving on the street.




The Week has met with resounding success in its inaugural edition with wide ranging support from

schools, colleges, NGOs, corporates, media, the government and the public. Over 170 events from 30+

cities of India are scheduled to be organized during the Week, ranging from Ludhiana to Cochin and

Rajkot to Nagaland.
