@akesling Yes lets just do nothing an let N Korea shoot down a a military satellite will cause all of their logistics to go flat and troops go hungry and run dry of ammo (we seen this during 9/11 when the navy side of the pentagon was hit) or shoot down banking sat. and cause an economic depressing, or hit a comm sat. during Katrina or the 2011 twisters and block rescuers transmissions, and the scary thing is they can do it with a EMP nuke or a simple laser transmission shutting it down Ahole

@akesling Taking down military and communication satellites prior to invading a country is a great tactic.. The military and civilian populace would have to resort to different means of communication.. Which is bad.

@akesling I suppose you've never heard of deterrence through strength. Much like in the animal kingdom, the stronger we are, and the stronger we appear, the less grief we'll get from other powers who would seek to do harm to the US, our citizens, and our interests. It doesn't take 'round the clock bombing of random parts of the world, but it does take the ability to project such power if a conflict should arise.

@SlowDownSmutty That isn't the point. Just because we've recently expanded our reach into space doesn't mean the Air Force needs to change it's name, and NASA is not a branch of the military, if that's what you're thinking.
