Mate that is so correct. I f we did not have the taboos of religion and superstition to confuse some of us we would have no hesitation in destroying our progeny as soon as it were born if that is what our instinct or feelings were for the conditions at time of birth.

Thankfully we can do that well before birth for an unwanted pregnancy, or armed with diagnostics, can prevent needless suffering of a deformed child in some way.

If a pregnancy occurs therefore, the couple, especially the female, has every
option open to them.

If they feel their lives are more important than having another life between them, that is their human instinct, and that is what the community should support.

It seems a big question to be resolved is this, "Is the fetus a person?" The answer is, "That depends on who you ask". It is a matter of opinion, not a scientific fact one way or another. First you have to define what a person is. Again science has no one answer. We all CAN agree that it is a potential person but, by law, it has no rights until viable.
In fact most all the arguments on both sides are opinions. The one whose opinion matters most should decide, namely the pregnant woman.
