Accompanied by friends, The Wandering Angler visits Buttonhole lake, a commercial fishery in the heart of the Fens where he catches Carp, Tench, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Goldfish and Bream. While he is there he is also given a lesson on the Pole.

  • what hook size, bait where you using? my lads just started fishing with a 4m pole, and how deep were you setting the hook

  • @StickyGeko Can't remember hok size on the pole but given what we were catching it was probably a 14? As for depth, I always fish either bottom or just off the bottom so plumming is important.

  • Its a lovely venue and it was an amazing day. I met your Granddad, he was a true gentleman.

  • something big splashs in the water behind you at 6.35

  • @Anddos25 Yes, that was a Carp, the place is absolutely packed with fish and there was Carp actvity on the surface the whole time. Floating baits probably would have done pretty well but it wasn't why I was there :)

  • love this
