  • May I ask what this will enable? Faster...?

  • Computation of geodesics is very useful as a fundamental step in a lot of computer graphics and geometry processing applications - from mesh simplification to collision detection of triangular shapes. The inspiration for this work was a 3D face recognition where geodesic distances are used as an expression-invariant descriptor of a face.

  • So in other words, it's able to determine attributes and bump mapping faster?

    And what does this mean for UV mapping and all that snazzy CG work stuff?
