In the house it only passed by 5 votes. Is the public option a poison pill for the Senate version?

  • KILL the Stupak ("stupid") amendment!!!

These days, we are realizing JUST how FUCKED UP this country is. Thank you for informing the public HappyCabbie.

  • We need to get rid of that retarded amendment regarding abortion, though. DX

  • Next election only vote for people who will vote for Single Payer.

    HR676.

  • Single Payer will unleash a wave of entrepreneurs who have been enslaved to corp America and could make this nation great once again.

  • Not sure if you have noticed but this great nation is getting it's ass handed to us by communist China. China gave 1 billion people Single Payer in less than 1 year.

Do you know to AMA limits the amount of Dr. who can come out of college? Then there is not visa limits on others working in the medical field here in the good old US. The cost of med school is killing family doctors. Medical school costs so much that a doctor has to find a speciality in order to charge more to pay back there loans.

  • So the police are not a right to keep us safe, the Fire Dept is not a right to pull us out of a burning building, the schools are not a right to make us a smarter society? Then there is Medicare. 60% of all bankruptcies are due to medical bills. So health care is not a right to keep us alive or loosing our homes? So what is the point of having any of these social programs?

  • the basic thought that health care is a right is against the rights of the health care providers. It's also anti capitalist which is one of the tenaments of our great nation. That a person who invest as much time and effort to become a physician does not have the right to assign value to his/her own time will discourage people from becoming such and they will flee the nation. Also students will pick other fields and end summ nothing changes cost's go right back up and the same 40 million :(

  • I spent 4 months down under and I had to goto the hospital.

You guys have it right and we here in the USA could learn a lot from your system.

  • So why is it up to the government to cover all the high risk people for free and everyone else is on there own? Over 65 you get free health insurance. WHY? Because when Medicare was past by the dems because seniors were dying because they could not afford to pay and insurance companies would not cover them because they were high risk. So what has changed? The only way is single payer where we all pay a tax and it all going into one pot in which all Americans are covered from. HR676

    Peace

  • Most of us when we are young do not need medical care just because of the fact they are YOUNG and healthy and this is the group the insurance companies want. So if our government makes it a law that everyone has to buy coverage this is a good thing for the insurance companies. Children under 18 should have free care with out question but there is always the WHAT IF..
