This classical piece from the popular PBS special "Innovators," is dedicated to the architects "The Masons" who designed the great cathedrals of Europe using just three tools. The melody of the piece can be dissected into three fragments representing the straight edge, compass, and ruler. Starting simply with a Gregorian chant, the piece grows to a glorious finish, all based on this simple motif.

Music by Kurt Bestor & Sam Cardon.
Produced by Brian Blosil.
Executive Producers: Randy Blosil and Bruce Bastian.

  • can anyone tell me where I can get this music all the songs are so beautiful

  • i listened to a part of this piece on Little Secrets' movie years ago and found myself so into it, just a moment ago suddenly the song got into my mind, .. and now i find it!

it's a veeeeerryyyyyy great composition, my fave! =D

  • Epic. Simply, Epic. I remember I was preparing for my exam and I was writting an essay to prepare for the same essay and this song started playing on the exact same time as I had only 5 minutes left. I managed to finish it right at the climatic end and it was one of the best studying periods I ever had.

    Thank Kurt.

  • This is one of the most beautiful things ever composed. It is so inspiring and climactic. It gives me chills every time I listen to it - I sincerely hope this is the music playing the first time I see the spiritual mansion of that greatest of great architects. Thank you Kurt for giving me a glimpse of that Celestial realm through this piece.

  • The cathedral was build in the 1100ds in the new gothic style, that enabled the great windows, as the walls weren't supportive anymore like in Roman arch..The Karolingian Renaissance had already improved the Roman-Greek architecture, but Gothic style was now totally different.

Despite the Muslim society claiming their "big influence on achitecture of the West" the Alhambra was finished only ab.250 years after , and was still in the old Roman-Greek style.

Just to clear up that "mistake"

  • i love this song. great.
