If the PCs are imported, of course they are not cheap as it should be; everyone forgot the embargos? That makes prices grow high. I live in Brazil where the situation is similar; the result: a lot of piracy, because just a few can buy original products.
Some think Fidel wanted to ban technology or computers? They just didn't have HOME PCs, but PCs for educational and professional use they had before Raul came to power. They even have their own Linux: Nova Baire. And it's good.
