The most interesting thing you can play using only the note A. ;)

  • This is a good position shift exercise. Playing this with each finger is a really good exercise too. ie just the baby finger.

  • @ShredTraining Now that's just crazy talk!

    *goes off to try it*

  • Hey FP I just had a question regarding picking hand. When I pick I've developed a tendancy to anchor the meaty bit of my palm to the top of my strings. When I un anchor it (trying to unlean this habit) I can't find a comfortable place to play.

Do you have an suggestions on correct hand placement?

  • @NickoTheGuitarist sure, my pick holding video also covers some posture, but unless you actually press into the guitar what you're doing isn't incorrect. You need something on the bass strings to mute them anyway. :)

  • I was kinda doing that same thing but in the first twelve frets, using the open A and the 2nd fret G string. Starting from the 6th string(fret#'s);5,0,7, 2, 10, and 5 again. After that move up past the 12th fret and do it again. I like your way too.

  • @CKS5000 Yeah, same concept, different direction of travel!
