Performing the Blue Bells of Scotland for my senior solo in the 2004 Clear Creek High School Spring Concert. Sorry for the over-exposed quality of the video that makes my face look like a light bulb.

EDIT: To all of those who have and want to critize, I don't care as this is a free place where we all can give our opinion on whatever. Just keep in mind of one word: "perspective".
I'm not (nor probaly will ever be) as good as Joe Alessi, Christian Lindberg, or any of those other Youtube videos of college and middle-aged guys playing Blue Bells.
I was a high school teen playing this peice with my personal views on how I think it should be played. And yes, I actully did play some parts of it "slow" on purpose as I'm more of a classical/lyrical player than a "showy" technical one (See: Morceau Symphonique). And the only reason why I decided to play this peice for this concert was because of the audience and concert setting... not because I think I'm the best bone player there is and I can play any peice I want. I give something the audience will be entertained by the most because that's what music is all about... entertaining your audience and enjoy playing while doing it. And it's the same reason why I put this and other videos on this site.

  • michael im pissed im only in like 4 seconds of this video....ur boy gwalk

  • Greg if you actually went ahead and played your senior solo you'd be featured too ;)

  • You have great tone. What kind of mouthpiece are you using? I can't decide whether to use a 12c or 6 1/2al.

  • I was using a Doug Elliot. The size was equivalent to a Bach 5G.

  • I'm an eighth grade tuba player and I'm actually going to play this tune for an audition later in the school year, I think you did amazing on it. Great Job. By the way, all those guys that critisize you are just jealous that they can't play it as good.

  • Another messy, unclear, and very out of tune high school attempt at this piece.

  • Great job man, I'll be playing this solo soon as a senior in High School and I think I may take the same path as you, I dont want to overdo it, since this is a high level college solo....anyways you were awesome in this video :)

  • I did it better when 15 but don't play anymore

  • I honestly played it better when i was 15

  • What's up with all the hater? This is a great performance coming from a high school student. Give the kid a break! Geesh.
