Some people really need to do some research. Alan is her family name when you try to romanise it from Tibetan into English. In some Asian cultures the surname is spoken before the given name, ie the opposite of the norm in English.

@eric3361269 go do some research before u make some comments. shes not using a man's name and Alan is 阿兰 in tibetan means moon. and when u pronounced as ah lan. shes not using a man's name, this is her tibetan name..

@shizznah Alan's name doesn't refer to the English name. A-Lan is actually the romanized pinyin form of her Chinese name. Her Chinese name is A-Lan with the Lan going up in sound and the A pronounced as A as in Aaah, opposing the A from the English name Alan.
