Myrlie Evers-Williams presented the keynote address at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Dinner Jan. 17 at Southeast Missouri State University. For more than three decades, Evers-Williams has fought to carry on the legacy of her husband, murdered civil rights activist Medgar Evers. She has become a symbol of courage and perseverance, steadfast in her march towards social justice. Evers-Williams made history in becoming the first woman to lead the NAACP.
