  • I'm not a constitutional lawyer, I'm not even a lawyer, in fact I don't have a degree in anything, but God help and direct me I do have to vote! All the voices are like the Tower of Babel - I can only choose to trust the advice of those I know are trustworthy. And there are faithful, courageous souls out there and I thank God for them. - Blessings - Rene

  • Protocol 35 protects the Irish constitution, the whole abortion issue with lisbon is non existent.

  • Diarmuid Martin is a priest. He is not a lawyer, or pro-life campaigner. It is therefore imprudent to invest too much confidence in his personal judgement of what effect the Lisbon Treaty will have.

The man in this excellent video is a lawyer with expertise in EU law. His explanation, though long-winded, is rational and logical.

  • What is it about this Treaty that makes most who talk about it sound so dreadfully boring? Come on Europe, hunt down and destroy the overpaid little dweebs who came up with such a tedious piece of mumbo jumbo. It has cost tens of millions and has managed to make the European project come across as a chronic case of beureacratic diarrhoea. Shameful, immorally expensive horse shit.

  • ye we got pushed around for years, its our time.

  • Ireland had a potato fmaine under British rule. Under EU rule it is the wealthiest nation in Europe. It started off as one of the poorest in Europe when it joined the EU. Ireland is now wealtiher than Switzerland. People would have laughed at that notion decades ago. Vote yes be positive, be Irish a be European. Say I love EU. LOL:

  • Trust the Irish Bishops. I think not! Abortion may well be imposed. Vote NO

  • EU law has always had primacy over National law. Abortion is not under danger. Catholics should listen to the bishops on the matter. Bishop Martin has explicitly said that abortion is NOT under danger. This is pure speculation and scare mongering and you should be ashamed of yourselves. From a pro-lifer.
