I just got my braces like 9 hours ago and they are starting to hurt a little, For my color I got lavender, and my orthodontic put it on different like he made some sort of zebra print looking affect.

@foreverbriannaslove5 A little soreness at this point is normal- you should see it get better over the next several days. We typically tell our patients to take ibuprofen for the discomfort, but you should follow your orthodontist's instructions. Good luck with your new braces! @lazzaraortho

So can you get white or clear ones???

@mercanificati0n @lazzaraortho You can get white or clear, but we typically recommend against it. White and clear elastics have no internal color, so they are very prone to staining. With metal brackets, silver works best if you want something that won't show. In our practice, we use Damon clear brackets, which have a little door instead of an elastic, so staining is not a problem.

No, you certainly don't have to have a shot! Having your braces placed does not hurt at all! Your teeth may be a little sore that night, and they will be sore for a few days afterwards, but its nothing a little Tylenol or Advil won't take care of.

@Dublin714 In my opinion, the dark colors seem to hold up the best. Dark reds, blues, greens, etc.

Your braces will make your teeth sore for the first few days after you have them placed, but the soreness isn't too bad- whatever you usually take for a headache will take care of it. To see the colors, check out the color chooser on our website: beachesbraces. com/ color.asp

The main thing to avoid are very sticky or chewy foods- gum, now & laters, etc. Really hard stuff like ice is also a bad idea.

Don't worry, you will do great with your braces!

@mercanificati0n u shouldnt get any of them because both of them would change colour. for example, if u eat tomato sauce then the clear or white ones would be a yucky sort of tomato red

@pinayatlove9 nope, completely painless.

The only annoying part is the taste of the stuff to make your teeth sticky.

Remember to lick your lips when you get the chance because your mouth gets VERY dry when getting your braces on.
