Agriculture was once a great area for economics but as the processes involved have become more automated and more technology being used, this has dwindled down the number of people used to harvest. These people went on to the manufacturing sector. As you can see now with the bail out of GM, technology is replacing the jobs here. The only place left is the service sector. The automation on this has already begun. From the internet, to self check outs, our employees are running out of options.
Have you ever heard of this thing Granholm initiated called the Drivers Responsibility Fee. Well I had to pay $2,000 for a driving offense, but 3 years later nobody will tell me where that money goes. Well people can't pay it so they get their drivers license suspended. Somethings gotta change or I am moving.
You and me are on the same page Steve, we need to move past the auto and manufacturing mentality of the state and start looking into more forestry, bio fuel production, more tech jobs, and we have great fisheries. We spend tons on road repair and have crappy roads, there is a open blood vain in michigan and her name is Jennifer Granholm.
