As the US Presidential election rapidly approaches, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and confused about what might be the most important electoral choice of our lifetimes. But how can we rise above the noise, stay engaged, and bring some much-needed sanity to our lives and to our world?

We would like to suggest the following Integral Life offerings, all of which can help revitalize our sense of hope, clarity, and stability in these trying times.

A Tale of Four Americas:

This piece takes a look at the political dynamics and cultural perspectives that influence every part of the Republican and Democratic parties. It explores the ideological divides that exist within each party, and offers a simple map to help make sense of these seemingly conflicting beliefs.

Obama and McCain - Seeing Through the Talking Points:

Here you can watch the Integral political map emerge in real time in the acceptance speeches of Senators McCain and Obama. What is each candidate really saying, and to whom are they speaking?

Sleeping With Your So-Called Enemy:

Here is a practice that suggests a way to step outside of your own political views and into those of to your other, allowing you to expand your own perspective, be as inclusive as possible, and make the most compassionate decisions in your own life.

  • How convenient to speculate Obama's win two weeks prior to the election. Sorry, integral naked, but who DIDN'T know he was going to win?

Not to mention you were so fond of emphasizing a republican win about a year ago.

I found that very weak. Especially for a person who spent a life time studying social trends and someone I very much respect.

Other than that, the informed decision making process was very well done; but far too little FAR too late. But that aside.

  • Um, who exactly are you addressing this to? Who is "Integral Naked"? Ken Wilber? The authors of this video? There is no single person dominating the political opinions of Integral Naked or Integral Life, so i am not sure who your criticisms are addressed to. And who exactly was "fond of emphasizing a republican win" back in May?! I can't remember a single time Ken or anyone in IN or IL claiming such a black-and-white, partisan bias.... So who exactly are you talking to?

  • @presentlightoftruth Do you think Jesus had a degree? Doubtful but I guess he didnt need one in order for you to trust in his words or ideas. We check the validity of what others say based upon our own working understanding of the universe in which we all reside. Your understanding of things is clearly primitive as the logic of your thought demonstrates, of course you cant see this, and I am sure that my logic appears the same way to you lol.

  • @presentlightoftruth The divorce rate in the U.S. is extremely high, and research suggests that 66% of all divorced couples are childless. Maybe this is due to the fact that after children their is a higher sense of devotion to the relationship. But who is Ken harming by not having children? I dont see the harm or immorality in being without a child. Lastly, the worth of a mans knowledge is not measured by some paper proclamation, it is measured by his knowledge alone.

  • @LooksAeterna Yes the powers that be are using this as a tool, but the science of spiral dynamics is legitimate non the less. The issue we must address is who is using it and for what ends. I think that people all around the world are doing whats right in their own eyes and hence all of the issues we see today, but what are the issues? And how must we behave or act in order to solve our human problems? Problems and the solutions to them are what matter most, in my humble opinion of course.

  • Ever since his books are known to be read by the likes of this crook Clinton it seems to have been impossible for "integralists" to question whether this staged farce of party politics is for real at all and who is really pulling the strings.

Insofar as there is no radical questioning of this kind, all of this theory is for the birds, or rather another tool for the powers that be.

  • @IntegralNaked Great response. Figures when faced with direct criticism and evidence based claims you run away.

  • that's exactly the point: what kind of change are you talking about? people bought into the obama lies cause they've heard the word change. but it's reallly meaningless if you're not specific about it. so obama has come to change things for the worse, not for the better. I suggest you understand the alien presence on this planet at this time!

  • globalists suck

  • Wilber is not a Western or Easter thinker nor mystic, but all of those. Wilber does not co-adapt but integrate, really realizing all of these aspects of us, in us.

I agree with being skeptical and critical.

    'We needn't agree with anyone."

No, but once you do you just want to. Focus your attention on psychodynamic aspects and you will notice growth.

    peace.

  • It is a crock. Wilber is rightwing. Or just an asshole, centrist. To say that Obama is "integral" because he sells out progressives, changes his positions, BECOMES MORE CONSERVATIVE to me means that being "integral" is bullshit.

Hmmmm, seems lots of politicians become more integral after wining the primaries.

But for us voters to be integral we should not be liberal, clearly. Or progressive if you prefer that term. That's clear enough.

  • I'm no fan of the thinker Zizek but this stuff here I think perfectly illustrates his point about the dangers of Eastern mysticism and thought, or specifically it's coaptation in the west.

Be skeptical and critical. We needn't agree with anyone.
