Various shots of American film star Captain Clark Gable at British base where he instructs USAF (United States Air Force) on gunnery. He shows how to handle a gun set on one of the American bombers. Clark Gable speaking to camera, telling of his job in the gunnery school (natural sound). Some nice close up shots of Clark Gable in uniform.
@briquetaverne Isn't it amazing, when we, in 2010, look back at a time, when men and women were clamoring to serve in the armed forces, and the nation was proud..? Celebrities, like, Bob Hope, for instance, who didn't go, entertained our servicemen/women, stateside, and, overseas.. Even cartoon characters were doing their bit.. A very, very different America, eh..?

@briquetaverne It was a combination of all of what you mentioned. He did see some serious action, and, believe it or not, Capt. Clark Gable actually had a price on his head! He was Adolf Hitler's favorite actor, and wanted him captured-alive! A small wonder, he was sent stateside, and discharged in mid 1944, I believe..
It wouldn't have been good for the military, having America's favorite film star, captured or killed..

@briquetaverne No, Gable enlisted as private, and graduated from OCS as a second lieutenant. Mind you, he was over forty when he joined up. He saw action, and held the rank of major discharged. A salute to Major Clark Gable

I stand corrected. Now I understand that he was sent to school to become a gunnery instructor and in turn to film an attack by bombers over germany for the war effort;

I thought he was a sergeant? I doesn't make sense that the Army would use a "captain" as a waist gunner? Something doesn't fit here; I'm thinking it was a Hollywood style promotion for the Camera
