Then when Detroits GM went to him and said "after the extensions we have given out this year we won't have the money to sign you" he went and as a Free Agent signed with a Cup Contender...thats selfish? @AyeYuMadBrah Not to discount any of your points, and I'm sure someone else has already said this but, Pittsburgh did give Hossa a substantial offer. If i remember correctly it was similar to the one James Neal just received, only worth more money. The truly unfortunate thing (for me as a Pens fan) is that Hossa left partially because of then Pens coach Therrien, who would obviously be fired midway through the next season.

Hossa was a good player. He helped three teams in three years reach the Cup Finals, and let's not forget he was the only player in Thrashers history to score 100 points in a season, not to mention he captained them to their only playoff appearance ever. I'm a Pens fan, and it was nice to gawk at this in '09 when they beat him, but he should be remembered as one of the NHL's best journeymen of the modern era.
