I always carry a small amount of cash with me and put my bank cards and anything else valuable in the security lockups.

i was there!!! that year and im also going this year....2009 was my first time there and it was awesome... except of course the toilets lol their the worst. XD

@florencelovme they have cash points, security at all camp site, you get a map in the info booklet they give you at the gate and also night time is very safe no trouble at all :D

OMG! Glastonbury 2009 was the best thing ever! It was the first time I ever went and I really want to go again. I'm not going this year, sadly because I didn't book tickets in time. Maybe next year, though. ;)

well if they are there i hope you do too. Seemed like they had a good Beatles singalong going on. Can't give you directions as i spent most of my time lost and they might have moved anyway - or not be there ever again. What do I know. Get lost in Glasto after dark. It's the best..

ok I have a few Qs :
1.) They say dont bring money with you because you'll get robbed. But how do you buy food with no money?
2.) How safe is it on night time? Are there security guards nearby?
3.) Do they hand out maps?

You would be extremely unlucky to be robbed - no more chance than on a night out. Dont leave valuable stuff in your tent as tents have been invaded. Just take the usual care you would anywhere. There is security everywhere and they are helpful. You can get a map on site but after it gets dark everybody is lost cos the site is so huge! Just ask the way!

@fobard thanks. have a good time. Won't be there this year unfortunately. Will be at Rhythm Fest nr Bedford tho. Chilled and good festival for those of a certain age....
