This looks pretty fun! Would love to see it released on XBLA or Steam. Shame it never got outside of Japan back in the day.

How playable is this game without any knowledge of Japanese? I've wanted to try it for a long time now.

Well, the basic gameplay is pretty straightforward. The game adopts a mission based approach and drops you in various dungeons and such. Obviously, story and such will be totally lost on you as well as mission objectives. Unfortunately, I've never played far enough to confidently say whether or not the language barrier ever really comes into play. Sorry!
