I am also a Trans Buddhist practicing Nichiren Buddhism. I found this practice to be KEY to my transitioning in a healthy way. I just moved from California and REALLY miss everyone and being able to have The Friendship Center, and the WCC. But, I've still got the Gohonzon ;-)
Hi, I have been practicing Nichiren Buddhism with the SGI since 1972. I am an MtF and went full time with the full support of my entire group in Oakland CA in 2005, My Buddhist practice has made me so spiritually stable that my transition has been almost effortless and joyfill.
i think learning about Buddhism kinda helped me realize and accept that I am trans. i definitely found Buddhism before Transgenderism, and I think it's amazing that in older cultures they revered trans- or two-spirited people. I've heard of surgeries for trans-people referred to as Body Modification, and while it may be a larger decision in the long run, i like the idea of it being YOURS to command, like receiving a tattoo or piercing. so may I ask what's your Ph.D in?
Congrats on your 10days on "T" and U should check my Vids!! I wish you nothing but the best in your continue Journey and Remember God is Love and Love is for Everyone!! Thanks for sharing and glad to see ur vids and please make more and I would love to talk to you more!! Peace and Blessing
Wonderful ways for us all to take into account - that the chemical does not shift our spirit. It's about being true to your core!! Thanks for the inspiration!
