Jim, everyone rips off of everyone. Its called "influences". Describe for me how it is a rip off of Bruford.

I guess it is a matter of opinion you think it sucks.

love the intensity, its very musical in an abstract way, reminds of brand x, holdsworth, bruford, all the bands I love, but unique too, brilliant stuff!!

You know you're onto some good music when listening to the first time makes you say aloud, "Fuuu-ha-ha-ha-uck."

i completely agree,.......allan holdsworth was already there technique wise and more advanced in compositional form, i think of the greeks and how they advanced the forms of mathematics and philosophy,...........without any precedent,.....but then there were the chinese and India, and my point is,... you reach a point where technique has reached a pinnacle but only because this was the emphasis of the moment, then it becomes priority to further other aspects of the musical form, .......will we??

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but I just don't like when theory is called 'rules'. I am a big theory guy, and as you learn more you realize there is a name for literally anything you can do, and that realization is kind of liberating.

Music theory isn't rules. It is a theory to explain naturally occurring phenomena in music. If this is acceptable to your ears enough to play it you are starting to think in a place beyond most theory. Not better or worse just different. Extreme dissonance doesn't mean random either. The notes are chosen deliberately to be outside.
