Bow Valley Wolf Pack Sighting Near Sunshine Village, Banff Alberta 2011-09-25

We were lucky enough to catch a sighting of the Bow Valley wolf pack 6 - 7 wolves near Sunshine Village (near Banff) Alberta, and filmed three of them as they walked along the road leading up to the Sunshine parking lot around 10 AM., 2011-09-25

Two of the wolves can be seen to wear radio collars, installed by Parks Canada biologists. This pack's location is monitored to study and resolve issues such as caribou reintroduction to the Banff National Park, investigate predatory actions claims by nearby ranchers, and monitor their migration habits.

Unfortunately, there continues to be numerous wolf casualties from the high volume of vehicle impacts in this area, and the wolves in this clip are highly endangered.

I live in Maine where there are few little wolves and I've always wanted to spot one. They are the most beautiful animal on earth and that's awesome you were able to see it. :)
