You are right on your own point, but I disagree with your quote. Ignorance is evil. Ignorance is what empowers and enables those lowly people to get to such positions of power, where they are easily (or long before) corrupted - because they are weak and not up to the job.

Ouch! Call centres! I've worked a few in my time, they're the IT equivalent of flipping hamburgers. All that monitoring breeds such anally-retentive team leaders. They get picked from the bunch and then lord it over their old workmates. It's like Lord of the Flies with call targets.
