DASH is a low weight, dynamic robot created in the Biomimetic Millisystems Lab at UC Berkeley. It can run forward at 1.5 m/s, climb over obstacles several times greater than its own hip height, and survive falls at terminal velocity.

  • Very impressive concept. Excellent video. Thanks for posting it.

  • Will DASH destroy spiders?

    Roaches?

    Fleas?

  • Nice :D

  • COOL

  • what if it lands upside down?

  • Beautiful in its simplicity. It looks like it could easily adapt to surface paddling or underwater swimming with the appropriate feet/legs. An easy way to add better turning might be to add a pager motor and propeller 90° to the travel direction, or maybe add a 7th leg at the nose pointing sideways.
