River (Where I Wanna Go) Original Song By Jessica Jolene

This is one of my best (in my opinion) original songs. It was co-written by James Compton. He wrote the guitar and I wrote the lyrics and melody.

Lyrics:

I go town to town
in a traveling band

I've been doing this
for many a year
I'm sure that I've shed

and slowing down
is my only fear
but those blue birds singing

The song is about an older man, who was in a band that never made it big, but they traveled around trying to make a name for themselves. After awhile he got tired and decided it was time to go home to the "River".
