Komati Springs is a flooded mine just outside the town of Badplaas in South Africa. It has numerous levels which one can explore. Here we explored from level 1 through to level 7. Dive done on Tri-mix with staged deco cylinders. For more info go to http://www.technicaldivingafrica.com.

  • I cave dive in the Uk havnt done anything that deep in a cave yet though, that looks great. Just read the fantastic book about Dave Shaw and Don Shirley " Raising the Dead" By Phillip Finch. Thanks for posting this vid.

  • The place we dived belongs to Don. He owns the gas and training facility there. Does all his Cave and Trimix course there.

  • I love scuba diving in South Africa!! :-) :-)

  • I read the book diving into darkness. Don did a dive to 250 meters to help his dive buddy Dave Shaw. They were recovering a body. The dive was in a sinkhole called Bushman's hole. He got bent at 150 meters. It got his ear so he got vertigo. He got nausea and did 12 hours of decompressing while vomitting.

  • Don is a legend from what i have read about him in the book, just a shame im so far away.
