I have worked a long time in the technical field. I worked for both a non-technical company, and a technical company, both were public (first being NYSE, then NASDAQ).
In both cases, the CEO, nor the CMO had any say in the underlining technical infrastructure. In both cases, Windows was used for the user's front end, but the decision was more because most of the users were more comfortable with Windows. The server applications were always either Unix or Linux.
I am not going to be crude, like a few posters here, but need to get this off my chest.
I hate this ad campaign with a passion. First, the animation is annoying. But what really irks me is the 'interview' that sounds like it was recorded on an old time tape recorded over a telephone.
Advertising can, and often, be beneficial, But this one, I highly doubt, is.
Finally, I now hate the term 'economic tsunami' (not that it was a liked term previously, just now I loath it).
I hate these commercials. The fact that they are talking to these CEOs and not a single one of them mentions Microsoft, yet they use their answers and twist it to make it seem like they are praising Microsoft!
And at least the MAC Commercials were original at the time, these are just a rip off of "I Met The Walrus"
So the mac ads telling you to buy their computers that cost twice as much as a PC is not a ripoff? Hypocrite wow At least they an make a commercial without insulting their comptetion.

Has an original idea ever come out of this company?
